Journalists, researchers and newsletters can use our data and charts. This page explains where the numbers come from and how to cite them.
What we track
- Tech layoff tracker: layoffs announced in SEC filings (8-K, 10-K), company statements and WARN notices, each with its source link.
- WARN notice tracker: notices filed with state labor departments in California, Washington, New York, Texas, Florida, Maryland, Virginia, Illinois, Ohio, Georgia, Oregon and Colorado, checked every hour, with history back to January 2025.
- US layoffs statistics: national figures from BLS JOLTS and the monthly jobs report.
- Company pages: every layoff round and WARN notice for each employer.
How we count
- We only add a layoff when a primary source confirms it. Unconfirmed reports are labeled “Reported, not confirmed” and are hidden by default.
- WARN figures are the number of workers listed in each notice. States publish notices days or weeks after filing, so recent months can rise as new notices come in.
- Year-over-year comparisons use the same states and the same date range in both years.
How to cite us
You can quote our figures and republish our charts. Please credit “GoLayoffs” with a link to the page you used, for example: Source: GoLayoffs WARN notice tracker (golayoffs.com/warn-notices/).
Embed a chart or download the data
Every chart on the site has Share, Embed and CSV buttons under it. Embed gives you a code to paste into your article, and the chart updates on its own. CSV downloads the numbers behind the chart.
