Counts are based on the date each state received or processed the notice. A WARN notice covers a planned layoff or closure at one site, so the numbers show announced job cuts, not all layoffs. Last checked: October 8, 2026, 11:06 pm EDT. Updated twice a day from official state sources.

Layoffs Today FAQ

Which companies announced layoffs today?

The list at the top of this page shows the WARN notices recorded today and in the last seven days in California, Washington, New York and Texas, grouped by day and company. It is checked twice a day.

Why are some days empty?

California publishes its WARN report on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and Washington adds notices as it receives them, so some days have no new filings.

Is a WARN notice the same as a layoff announcement?

A WARN notice is the official advance notice an employer files with the state before a qualifying layoff or closure, usually about 60 days ahead. Companies may also announce cuts in the news before or after they file.
