What is a WARN notice?

Under the federal WARN Act, employers with 100 or more employees must give 60 calendar days’ notice before a plant closing or mass layoff that affects at least 50 workers at one site, and they must notify the state as well as the workers (20 CFR Part 639). The Texas Workforce Commission publishes the notices it receives under the WARN Act in a yearly list.
