How we build this tracker
- Primary sources only. Public companies must file a Form 8-K with the SEC when they commit to a restructuring with material costs (Item 2.05, “Costs Associated with Exit or Disposal Activities”). We read each filing and report the figure it gives. For companies that announce cuts outside SEC filings, we use the company’s own statement.
- What the company said, not what we guess. If a filing gives only a percentage, we show the percentage. If it gives no size, we write “Not disclosed”.
- AI cited. We mark an announcement when the company itself links the cut to AI in that document. Mentions of AI in generic risk warnings do not count.
- Updates. We check new SEC filings and WARN notices regularly and add new announcements with their sources.
